SELF PORTRAIT, 2025
Ellie Applegate is a British photographer based in the South West who embraces the act of play and performance within the construction of her photographs. Combining concept, imagination and experimentation into her creative process, using her imagery as a way to create unusual scenes.
Ellie uses her practice as an outlet to come to terms with the world around her, contemplating questions of belonging whilst also exploring a deep connection with where she comes from. Applying a positive outlook to the work and utilising play and imagination to feel empowered, with hope that the work may also empower those who connect with it.
